Working on a bunch of new songs and most are half finished. I love that my schedule this week says nothing but ‘WRITE LYRICS.’ This makes me happy. The process is both joyful and absolutely grueling. I find I fight the hardest for the songs I most need to sing. And I follow Anne Lamott on Twitter for daily pep-talks on getting your butt in the chair and just doing the work, no matter how shitty (or amazing) you think it’s going.
